Born at Highgate in Kent County England in 1899, William Bryden “Baldy” George’s family moved to Ontario shortly before his second birthday in 1901.  Baldy accepted a position at the Kemptville Agricultural School in 1926 and remained there until his retirement. Baldy served as president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association from 1952-55, and also served terms as Second and First Vice President from 1948-52. He also served the Ottawa District Hockey Association as President from 1939-41 and as Treasurer from 1947-1966. His list of civic contributions goes on, and it is amazing that this busy man was still able to maintain perfect attendance with the Rotary Club for over 35 years.
