Born in 1965, Henry Brunton was raised and educated in the Town of Kemptville, developing his love of sport at a very early age. As a youth, he became a very skilled player of many sports both in school and the community, but it soon became apparent that his true love was golf. Today, Henry is one of the most recognizable names in Canadian Golf and is one of the world’s leading golf coaches and educators.A member of the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association since 1985, Henry has a passion for developing elite junior golfers, and has been Canada’s National Coach since the Royal Canadian Golf Association established its Player Development Program in 1999. Teams led by this Kemptville native won the 2001 Four Nations Cup Championship, the 2003 Americas Cup, and have competed for Canada around the globe.  Henry coached the Canadian National Men’s Team to a silver medal at the 2006 World Amateur Championship in South Africa, and the Canadian Junior team to a bronze medal finish at the 2010 World Junior Championship in Japan.

In addition, Henry has become a respected author and educator. In 1999, he was hired by the Canadian PGA to design and develop a national teacher and coach educator program. This highly acclaimed teaching and coaching certification program is now the mandatory training program for all CPGA professionals.

Recognition of Henry’s devotion to the golf community is worldwide. The CPGA awarded him Master Professional Status, its highest standing, and he received a fourth place ranking as the most influential person in Canadian Golf by the National Post. He is the first and only Canadian recognized by Golf Magazine as one of America’s Top 100 Teachers and was the first Canadian to be included among the “U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Junior Teachers”. As well, in 2009 he received the National Junior Leader of the Year award, and in 2010 was presented with the PGA’s of Europe 5 Star Award, the highest recognition for a golf professional. Henry continues to work with the Canadian Men’s and Junior Boys’ National Teams and leads “Strive for Excellence”, a comprehensive year-round coaching and training program for aspiring high level junior and collegiate golfers.
