1986 Kemptville Midget “C” Ball Team

On Labour Day weekend in 1986, the Kemptville Peewee and Midget C softball teams brought honours to our community and its athletic programs. Twenty years before, a single Kemptville team had won an All Ontario Championship. On that weekend at the end of August 1986, both our Peewee and Midget C teams were crowned Provincial Champions.

It is rare for any community the size of Kemptville to qualify for an O.A.S.A. playdown. To have two teams bring home gold medals is unforgettable. Winning two championships in the same year is a feat unmatched.

The Midgets won their crown in Meaford while the PeeWees won their crown in Waterford.

Soon after the two teams arrived home with their trophies and medals, the Kemptville Lions Club arranged a civic reception to allow the town to show its pride and to honour our two victorious teams.
