Born and raised in Kemptville, Peter spent his early years playing local minor hockey. At 12 years of age, he joined the Alta Vista pee-wee hockey team. In 1968, at 16 years old, he was drafted by the Ottawa 67’s in the Major Junior Ontario Hockey League and played here for the next four years. During Peter’s time with the 67’s, the team made the playoffs all 4 years.A highlight for him personally was in a game against Hamilton where he scored 7 points, a rarity in hockey. In 1972, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins and played for their farm team, the Dayton Ohio Gems of the International League for 2 years. Peter earned first team all-star right winger honours for the league both years. In 1974, Peter moved to Switzerland playing there for 14 seasons, mostly with Ambri and Zug, always finishing in the top 5 in scoring. He then returned to Ottawa in the mid 1990’s to work as an assistant coach for the 67’s with Brian Kilrea and Bert O’Brien.
Peter completed his coaching career in Italy, then returned home, moving to Florida where he has spent the past 15 years in the golf business.
